This term at Wayfinders …

Can you imagine being a slave? God's people were slaves in Egypt, once. They had a hard life. They were ruled by masters that didn't care about them. But God sent a rescuer, Moses. And God used Moses to rescue his people. On their own, the people of God couldn't have escaped … the Egyptians were too strong for them. But God is stronger than anyone … and every one of the Israelites who followed God's rescuer, Moses, escaped from the land of slavery to start a new life following God!

The Bible tells us that we are slaves, too. Everybody is a slave of sin. Sin is failing to obey God and to love him above all else, and we all obey sin rather than God … every single one of us!

But God has sent a rescuer to rescue us from sin, too! This rescuer is Jesus Christ. On our own, we cannot escape from sin … we just keep on sinning, however hard we try. But God is stronger than sin.

Any person (adult or child!) can be rescued from sin. You need to ask Jesus for forgiveness, and to ask Jesus to be your Lord and to TRUST Jesus to rescue you from sin and the punishment that goes with it. You can find out more about yourself and Jesus and how he rescues us by reading the Bible (why not start with Mark's gospel?) … or by coming to Wayfinders!
